PayPal, Google, OS Commerce.
There are plenty of open source ones that you can use, but you'd need your own secure server, plus database etc. to support that.
PayPal is probably the easiest. It's never too late to gyrate!

I use an EKMpowershop. Gives you the whole shop as well as the cart and is very simple and very good in my opinion. If you go to their website you can demo the software to see what you think of it. You do need an Internet Merchants Account though to be able to take credit card orders.

Hi,
I recently got a site called b1hosting.co.uk/e-com.php that provides shopping cart with full featured. It’s really ideal shopping cart software for e-commerce solution. Hope this will help you.
Good luck!

I guess it depends on what you are using for your e-commerce site - if it's an off the shelf solution, then a lot have plugins for payment methods, for example OS Commerce has a few available.
If you have hand-crafted the site yourself, then you will know what technologies are available to you - PHP, ASP, JSP etc. If you have access to your own secure server (I know I do on my sites), then you can store the transaction details yourself in your own database.
If all you are after is software to do the shopping basket rather than having any payment processing, then there are lots of free samples on PHP resource sites, or you can write your own - there are some good books out there which cover MySQL and PHP which seems to be the general approach since these are open source.
There are also lots of people on eBay selling scripts and samples for this kind of thing - I bought a load of PHP and MySQL samples a couple of years back, which were useful.
Finally, some webhosts can provide this kind of thing for you as well. I know that PowWeb, who I use provide it for free as part of their standard hosting package.
