Went to our first Boot Sale of the Year today...!
What a great morning - bit cloudy but dry and not too cold! Seems to me that the first boot sales are the best - lots on offer and everyone enjoying being out, having a browse and a chat (and spotting lots of lovely bargains!)
I got a range of books, old jewellery, a wooden tray, a ceramic bowl (unglazed) and a set of place mats and coasters (cork backed) Nothing more than £1 each or per set...
The idea is to make them into "works of art", with my new jar of Mod Podge!
The jewellery will be broken down into "embellishments" and one of the books is organ music sheets which will used as craft paper!
(My OH got a 50p book and a new spray fitting for the hose, so that kept him happy!)
Anyone else enjoys Boot Sales?? Or hates them..??

i went to one yesterday but it turned out to me more of a farm equipment auction than a car boot! I was at risk of buying a JCB wheel with one wrong move! there were only about 10 stalls but i managed to snag some cross stitch bits

I do like to go to car boot sales occasionally but I work sundays and as most are sundays I miss them.Wendy x

LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I posted a pic of the treasures of my first finds at a boot sale on my blog.
Glad you had a good time. It's lovely to get up early and go out and about. I'm hearing alot about this modge podge - what does it do? and where can I get it?

I found "Mod Podge Rocks" a very helpful website.
www.modpodgerocksblog.com
Amy explains the various types (Formula Guide) and there are three videos (Learn How/Tips) which tells you how to use it.
Mod Podge is a glue, a sealer and a varnish all in one.
I bought mine on Ebay and you can also get it on Amazon - probably online elsewhere as well.
Have only just started using it, but enjoying it so far!
Hope this helps! Nancy

I love car boots but find it hard to get out of bed at the crack of dawn on Sundays! I'd love to do it more regularly but I'm not dedicated enough!
