Painted furniture.
hello. I was wondering if anyone had sold painted furniture at craft fairs? I've booked a couple for spring and summer and was wondering what would go down well. Obviously the pieces have to be smallish to fit in but I'm struggling a bit with what things to try and sell. Would be very grateful for any help.
Great site, first time I've been on.

Not done this but I have seen - children's rocking chairs, front porch benches, foot stools, step stools, bedside tables...plant stands, narrow tables to go behind sofas, small book cases...

Can I suggest something?
Have your 'proper' stuff for a lovely display to draw customers in. I think that as it'll be a purchase that needs a bit of thinking they may hesitate to buy straight away.
But you need to get your table/pitch money back so have a collection of 'cheap' small impulse buy things. Small mirrors with painted backs, ditto for hairbrushes and maybe combs, painted spoons, small boxes, coasters and key rings. When you sell a small thing put you card, advert or catalogue in the bag and hopefully the customer will seek you out later.

Coat/hat racks that screw to the wall - or maybe ones that stand on the floor...would they fit? Key racks? Desk mail organizers or in/out boxes? Steps for in front of the toilet for toddlers (solid glaze that can be washed!!)...steps for in front of the sink for toddlers...bed trays (for eating), TV trays...bread boxes...somebody stop me....trash cans?? Toilet tissue holders? Ummmmmmmmmm..........

I always found decorative painted bookmarks to be great sellers. You can paint onto paper and then enclose into a see through/self seal bookmark cover or you can put them through a laminator and trim to shape, then add a hole for a ribbon to go through at one end. Otherwise you could personalise them with names on the day.
