what do i need to make soap

i am looking to make a very small batch of plain scented soap and wondered what I would need??

What kind of soap do you want to make, cold process/hot process or are you planning on making melt and pour?? Are you looking to sell it or making it for yourself?

i think what i need after reading online is the melt and pour stuff. I do want to sell it so think I will just go with that.

Where is the best place to buy it??

Hi,

I'm a traditional cold process soapmaker, so i'm not too sure about Melt and Pour kits. I think there's a company called 'melt and pour supplies' that sell bases and fragrance etc. If you're not sure about the safety certification process I think they can help with that too.

I have ordered a few bits from The soap kitchen in Devon and they also have simple recipe sheets and instructions, mind you they would have to be simple for me!!!

just a soap do melt and pour and offer certificates as well if you want to sell it, but your limited to there ingredients and fragrances etc

I had thought about going down the line of bath products but when I looked into further all the certification you need put me right off. Every ingredient needs passed then every product needs passed and if you change and ingredient in the product needs passed again. Really put me off. Think I will stick to my candles.

I Know! It's a nightmare, it took me so long to figure it all out. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere, i found out that I needed trade approved scales to comply with the weights and measures laws!! That was a couple more hundred out the door!! and I have to pay for calibration every year!!

But now it's all a distant memory, thankfully!
