Etching/engraving tools? Dremel recommendations anyone?
Am looking for an engraving tool as I want to etch finer lines into my work than I can achieve with etching paste. Have been looking at Dremel but it looks quite bulky. Ideally it would be as easy to use as a pen. Anyone got any ideas or tips? Anyone use Dremel? Am a bit confused by it all so would like some advice before I commit.
Thanks!

The Dremel has an attachment called a flexible shaft that connects to the drill and has a pen like end

When I bought mine I bought a set with it already included as it worked out cheaper- i use mine a lot

Thanks Chris, that is exactly what I had in mind. Did you buy direct from them or from a craft supplier out of interest?

Hi I have been looking into dremels for some time now. The engraver is apparantly (feedback from other forums) not suitable for glass engraving. The best thing to get is one with a flex shaft as the kiamyka suggests. I have just ordered the 400 with flex shaft from the same website that kiamyka linked to. Click on 'special offers selection'.
There is also a 300 which is £20 cheaper. You'll have to look into it, but I chose the 400 as it was recommended.
Hope that helps

Thanks for that 'animallover' haven't been on here for a while...have been dropping hints to OH about this for xmas pressie so will link onto above to show him. I thought that the engraver looked unsuitable for glass engraving, it just looked too bulky to hold like a pen, but the flexi shaft looks ideal. It would be nice to get more feed back from users but there doesn't seem to be many on here...let me know when you get yours what you think maybe?
