Lettering on candles
Have been making candles for a while now and a friend has asked if i can make candles as wedding favours for her she has seen some with the bride and grooms name and the date of the wedding they look as though they are printed on. I told her i would look into it any suggestions will be very welcome x

You will probably find that it water slide decal paper that was used if it is only favours. I tried engraving onto candles which worked great but I couldn't get an ink that would fill in the engraving so I just used the decals.

Just thought id let you lovely folk know that the favours turned out great. However i tried a larger design on a pillar candle for mothers day and when the decal has dried it has a lot of wrinkles in it
Any suggestions? I have seen a video clip that says to use decal mount which is in a wee bottle on the video but i could only see it in the US when i did a search and the postage was $30

I don't know what the decal mount is so I couldn't tell you about that.
Decals do take quite a bit of practice to get it right. If you use too much varnish or apply it unevenly you will get wrinkles/uneven marks on the candle. If you don't use enough varnish the ink just washes away (and ow how many times I have done that!!!).
I bought the squeegy thing from craft computer paper but to be honest I have found the best thing to be a dry lint free cloth (I use a microfibre one) and gently wipe over the candle to get rid of excess water - again dry it too much and you will end up makking wrinkles. It is a bit of trial and error I'm afraid.
