pressing and drying flowers
HELP!
Can anyone tell me the best way to press flowers if I dont own a press. Im sure I used to do it between books when I was wee but now im not sure if this works or if the flowers will go brown. Should I put them between cardboard first or maybe something to absorb the moisture?

Hi,
I press flowers in a press but I used to do it just by laying them between sheets of kitchen paper and putting them in an old Yellow Pages, then putting some heavy books on top of that! They take a few weeks to dry and some are better than others!
A flower press is the best way to go if you want to do it well and you can even get ones you can microwave.

Hi,
I have the small microfleur but I get varying results with it. I'm sure it's me and not it, as it's good for drying flowers especially, but I still do the old fashioned pressing method as well. I suppose it depends what you're going to do with the flowers. Are you going to incorporate them into your jewellery - in resin maybe? I use mine in cards and candles and both methods give me enough flowers for what I need.
