My Ceramic Exhibition
Well, tonight's the night. I've been over to the venue and all my stuff is now set up. I have time now to relax for a while, shower and change before I go back to hopefully greet my invited guests.
I just hope someone actually turns up! I've ordered 3 dozen hot mince pies and I don't want to have to eat them all myself! Plus of course it will all have been a waste of time and money if no one shows...

Update
A report back - despite me sending out oodles of invitations, only 5 people showed up! I cancelled the mince pies....
On the plus side, they did all buy something, so I didn't make a loss.
Also, this was my first exhibition since I moved here last June. I hope that if I try to make it an annual event, people will get used to it and look forward to it.
Next year's invites will say "You are invited to my annual exhibition" - people like to see a permanence about things, I think.

My first impression of ceramics EXHIBITION was quite high brow, fineart, expensive and on seeing your pics, your work looks much more accessible, affordable, functional, gifty....
Do you think you might be putting off potential customers by the wording?
Perhaps by calling it a handcrafted ceramics sale /selling event or something similar you might get a wider audience?

Thanks, that's not a bad idea.
On my invites I had put "Exhibition and Sale of Work" with a washed out pic in the background of some pots.
But you're right, my stuff is mostly functional and gifty. I'll try to make it sound more accessible next time, might pull in more customers.
