Found another craft I am going to have a go at! Whats the best way to get thin plastic smooth at the edges? Would sandpaper work?

I know!! I can normally settle to things really well but recently I have been having loads of ideas - I thought up another one while I was driving to a sing song with the girls this afternoon!
