Driftwood Wanted!

Hello, i don't know if anyone one can help me but i am in need of a driftwood supplier (if there is such a thing) i want to make some simple boat base's for my son and nephews bedrooms. wether they sell it indiviually or in bundles i don't mind, i have looked and looked but can't find anyone. i know i should collect it myself especially as i come from barnstaple on the n.devon coast !! but i now live in surrey and i don't get down to the coast very often.

Me too im afraid. Ive got a nice lump of Jarrah in the Shed its very hard but makes lovely red pens.

Hi, this might sound a strange suggestion but have you tried any pet shops that cater for 'exotic' pets? I only ask because I have bought some lovely pieces of wood (for a couple of quid apiece) which are the kind usually used in vivariums for snakes & other similar pets. I use them as display for draping my jewellery over and found some lovely interesting shapes in the pet shop near me. I hasten to add that I have separate pieces for my snake and don't strip her vivarium whenever I've got a craft fair - lol!!!

If like me you don't live near a lovely beach or the only thing on your nearest beach is nappies and coke cans , these have some lovely pieces of driftwood

I have to ask.....how on earth do you get driftwood in the Alps? I know the oceans are supposed to be rising but didn't realise things were that serious
