Default What Once Were Kitchen Curtains ..

I took down the old kitchen curtains and stashed them away in the airing cupboard when we moved in. Yesterday on a whim I pulled out a pattern, my sewing machine and started weilding the scissors!

An hour and a half later and voila!

It was meant to have sleeves, but I didn't have enough fabric. Maybe I should have done a proper Scarlet O'Hara and used the curtain frills I removed and attached them to the bottom or made a hat

    Nice bit of recycling there!

Thank you! Yes, a proper bit of make do and mend there! A good old bit of WWII attitude never hurts anyone!

That's lovely, really sweet spring dress, and for free - even better

That is brilliant, you would never guess it used to be curtains!!!!

Very pretty, well done. I'm all for the WWII attitude of making something from something else (if only I had the imagination for it!)

    Thank you everyone!

Diane - I was a little worried at first that it might look like I was wearing curtains! My husband assures me it doesn't!

sparkysdad - I bet your mum looked the bees knees! Yes, I think women do have it easier.
