help! My petals are turning brown!!
Hello
I recently made some rose petal soap, they looked great at first but then all of the petals turned a yellowy brown and looked like mush! what have i done wrong?Sarah

which method are you using? (e.g. melt and pour)........

The only flower petals you can guarantee will keep their colour, whether MP, CP or HP are calendula (possibly safflower, I've not tried those).
Most will go brown and some of the blue ones will look pretty for a day or two then fade away.
Back home on my desktop I have a number of pics of botanicals and how they behave in MP - I'll put them up somewhere suitable next week when I get home.

melt & pour method, I was wondering if I should be letting the bas cool more do you think?

Nope. Like Elaine says, most flowers/buds/petals will discolour. Major bummer but that's the way it is! In M&P you might get away with sticking them to the top of a bar but they will still go brown over time

thankyou...im new to making soap, bit nervous about it actually, i can find recipies but not everything tells you exactly how much to put in etc.
