As we're mostly girlies on this forum (and as I've never posted a poll before) just wondering whether we're all buxom babes or skinny minnies.....

I'm hoping to be smaller than I am now (12-14) by the summer but I just can't get into dieting mode. The chocolate and crisps always call when I'm bored at work :D

Thank Heaven for you Sprinkles. I was beginning to feel like the only 'curvaceous' one amongst us!!! :0) And I've got no steroids to blame it on - just a love of food and a lack of willpower!

What a lovely word to use 'curvaceous'

The plus size section of shops should be scraped id say. We shouldn't be in a category!

I hate to say this ladies but I'm a 6-8. Not out of choice though (eat like a horse but it desn't make a difference - sorry) I've always been a skinny minnie and at 5ft 6 used to find it extremely frustrating buying clothes of that size that weren't in the petite sections. Thank goodness for the size 0 fad (not really, that's just plain unhealthy) but at least then they started making stuff that actually fitted properly !!

There wasn't that option on the poll though so I posted 8-10.

Gawd so many skinny minneys - sorry girls but i'm 22+ ;) but life's to short to be on a diet - i would pass for Dawn French's sister even had the hair cut for a short time but it was getting to spookey so i had to change my hair but i wouldn't change a thing (i love Dawn to bits) :D

At 53 I'm still exactly the size I was at 13, a top heavy size 10 with natural double D's and weighing in at 8stone 5. Pity the top bit is making its way southward!!

Well I'm 5 foot 1 and a half (that half makes all the difference) and am borderline 16/18 depending on which shop I buy from.

I do very much have a jelllybelly (although glad to say the jellybrain has improved!) and have never really lost my pregnancy weight (Toby's 5!)

I put weight on each time I gave up smoking which I've done 3 times in my life. I've been off the fags for, gosh, nearly 10 years but I do still miss it and that's usually when I'll have something naughty like a biscuit.

My downfall is cheese and milk ....... plus I don't do any exercise (I have to be careful with M.E.). I wish I could miraculously lose some weight. If there was a tablet-form of a gastric-band operation I'd take it!

I may be the tallest so far at 5'10"

My height hides my size 12-14 figure quite well, plus a pair of killer heals and you'd never know....i'd call myself evenly distributed :D

I'm just a bit shorter than you at 5' 8" - I hate being tall I don't know if it is a Glasgow thing for short men or not but I tend to tower over just about every man I know!!!

Hehe.

I'm 5'5" (if I stand up straight!); for many years was a size 10, stopped smoking ten years ago and went up to a 12, hit middle age (got the muscle and joint problems so exercise curtailed) some years ago and hit size 14.

However, it depends on the make and style of the clothes - I can still get into my little black velvet size 10 dress but it does show the tummy :(, if I buy cheap and cheerful it's definitely a 14 and sometimes closer to a 16.

I am now in the process of growing old disgracefully and wearing what I like when I like (quite often purple!) ;)

I'm 5.8" and i'm now a size 10/12. Last year i was size 8/10 as i lost a lot of weight without trying after my 3rd child, i ended up weighing 7st11lbs which is way to low. Couldn't put weight on through eating but have since discovered alcohol pushing me back up to a healthier weight of 9st9lbs (might be a healthier weight but theres nothing else healthy about me :D-lifes too short).

I am so much happier now as i have the bits that a woman should have (although i would prefer a narrowier bum :p). I'm enjoying having a few curves and wobbly bits...........lol.

I'm a 14/16 and I'm very pleased with my weight (I was a 20/22 when Tara was born). I would like to firm up my wobbly bits but I honestly don't have the time! And lots of the granny style clothes I buy in the charity shops etc are larger anyway and we wouldn't want to stifle my creative dressing skills would we!! Also I have a tiny waist so I can emphasise that with belts etc when I want to. Best of both worlds I think! I'm so much more confident than I used to be but I think that is down to not caring what people think rather than the size I am :D

I'm loving reading this thread! Beauty most certainly aint defined by size

I actually love cuddly blokes yet my soulmate darling has turned out to be a slim Jim, go figure?! :)

And for my xmas quiz (another thread!) I picked Bridget Fonda who's a bit of a skinny minny but I picked her cos she has a gorgeous smile. And I love watching the beautifully curvy Nigella, partly cos I love how she talks and how self deprecating she is

...OK, I just have a thing about mouths and how folk speak, thats what turns me on! :sm:

I'm about a 6-8 (depends on the shop, they vary so much grrr...) but thats just because I'm so short lol.
Honestly, pretty everyone I know is taller than me, apart from one of my friends, but then shes a twin, so it makes sense for her to be small... I've started rambling on now haven't I, whoops!

I'm a size 14 top and bottom with a size 12 waist. I always find buying jeans and trousers the worst because when I get some to fit my hips, they're always huge around the waist :(

I'm 5'6" and a 10-12. I always used to say that when I hit 12 I would start dieting - not happened yet and that was a good 4-5 years ago! But I just love my food way too much and as Craftyfoxni said, life's too short!

Plus I have boobies now which I didn't before and I love them! :D

On the whole I'm quite happy with my size though we all have good and bad days.

I'm with you on that one ... even though I'm curvy, I do still have a waist!
I find the only jeans that fit me comfortably are from Monsoon and you know how expensive they are!

I'm 5'7" and a size 8-10. I used to be a 12-14 (even 16 for about a year after DD2) but I was ill a couple of years ago and lost a lot and now I don't seem to be able to put any on. I am permanently stressed out so I put it down to that. If life ever becomes rosy again I'm hoping I'll blossom into a big sexy curvy lass again instead of the gaunt waif-like stick I am at the moment. I don't like being skinny, it makes me look old and haggered!

D'ya know my sister was the same, she went a bit diet mad many years ago and got very small but so many people asked her if she felt alright, she really looked unwell. But having said that, she has to have steroids for bad asthma now so she's gone a lot bigger than her natural size but if the medication works, I guess thats the main thing

Heres hoping any of you guys battling the nasty S word (not spammers! :)) can zap it out of existence soon - its a bully and should be treated accordingly :but:
