Just a quick hello to all.
I should be working but this forum is so interesting!
So, besides running my own business - sewing/knitting/crochet/embroidery - I'm also organising craft fairs in and around Lancaster. I'll be posting details in the Craft Fairs forum soon.

I'm looking forward to chatting to you all later.

Welcome Sue - there certainly appears to be more happening in the North regarding craft fairs than down here in sunny Rutland/Leicestershire.

Thanks for the welcome!

Cynthia- I was lucky this year to get booked with an organiser who hosts regular craft fairs in the Lake District, and even though it's 'on our doorstep', the miles are mounting up, making a big hole in my profits! That's one of the reasons I decided we needed something local.

I can only fit in 5 of my own events this year, plus 2 more I'm helping to organise, but next year could be different.

If there's not enough going on down your way, could you not give it a go yourself? If you keep it small to begin with, it's not too difficult.
I wish you luck with *any* fairs you do this year. :)

(welcome) and hello from me too!

I'd already found your website via google and its in my favourites!! I'm just about at my quota of fairs that I can probably manage this year but would be interested in 2009 dates that you may organise!! Have a look on my website and let me know if I'd fit in!

Pics of my stall at my first ever fair are:

Hi - well in actual fact I am organising one at the moment as part of a fundraising weekend for the church - so buried in a pile of e-mails and chasing people who have got "lost" after expressing interest. Fortunately it is not until the end of August, so plenty of time to fill the stalls, have already got a few signed up and paid and others in the process of sending back forms. I also have three others lined up in the summer, so not too bad, but you have to search for them (apart from the ones that are now annual and I am on the list) or the other types of craft fair are the big ones where you pay a fortune to exhibit and selling cards does not bring in that sort of money, even on a good day.

Good luck with your events.

Hi and (welcome) from me too

I also started running fairs this year with my fiancee as we could not find enough that had spaces for jewellery.

Good luck with your fairs
