...it's because I've succumbed to Death by Scrambled Eggs...

Hard to believe, at 42 (41!) I've just cooked my first scrambled eggs! They were yummy though, had mushrooms and cream cheese in, but I have a sneaky suspicion I may not have cooked em long enough?...

I just hope Mr M isnt reported for following my cortage waiting for the Craft Forum donation to be read out from my Will

Believe they are better under cooked than over cooked !!!! Try it next time with smoked salmon.. Sounds posh but salmon up here is cheap.

LMAO!

Eggs are so dodgy..I love hearing about peoples dodgy food cooking!

I once poached an egg in the microwave, i left it a bit longer than I should have done, when i took it out, it had an air bubble in it, so i got my knife and poked it...no word of a lie, the bloody thing exploded, literally exploded, i shat myself, it was loud, there was egg on the cuboards, the floor, on me and yes i did have egg on my face and it bloody well burnt me! I phoned my friend and told her what happened and we spent ages pissing ourselves laughing, it was not funny at the time, but it makes me laugh now!

...I wouldnt worry about not cooking them properly, I think our bodies are quite resiliant, sometimes if you put alot of milk in they can look like they're not cooked properly...unless you forgot the milk! lol....

I love cooking, but especially baking. I'll try anything new. Contemplating Delia's chocolate gateau with frozen mash...got the mash in the freezer!

If you're making strangled eggs don't over stir them..you get fluffier egg by not stirring constantly. Strangled eggs made with cream won't seperate unlike strangled eggs cooked whisked with milk. Also very tasty is adding chopped ham, or that finely diced Westfalen smoked ham from Lidl or Aldi.

Sweet, I nearly sprayed my new puter with applejuice reading your post...hilarious! I can just picture it...and having just bought a micro egg poacher for Himself I shall take notes! We've not tried the egg poacher yet.....

I normally swill my pan out with cold water, shake the excess water out, but don't dry the pan. Then bung my eggs in.

Hope you are well this morning! :D

You need a blob of butter, melted in the pan, and swirled around the base and up the sides. You do need to stir, but frequently as apposed to constantly, and increasingly as the eggs are nearly cooked. It's taken me a good few years to perfect scrambled egg.

We often have a healthy version of the great British breakfast. Strangled egg, not fried. Grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and bacon and sausages (95% meat, not crud) and my piece de resistance - healthier fried bread! Yes, it can be done.

You need some of that 1 cal sunflower spray. Spray your bread on one side (has to be white bread) quite liberally, and put into a hot dry frying pan. Spray the other side. Turn frequently to ensure browning is as even as you can get it. It doesn't look as golden as proper fried bread but tastes identical without the greasiness.

Not 100% fat free, but a much healthier version to have occasionally. I sometimes do this instead of toast when I have beans under toast.

A pan? ok, i must be a microwave freak..heres what i do (I promise the scrambled eggs wont explode!!)

Put your eggs into a microwave proof bowl, mix 'em up, add a little butter if you like, add your milk, mix altogether, add some pepper if you like also, whack in the microwave for a minute or two, take them out, stir 'em up again, put back into the microwave for another minute or two and hey presto....yummy scrambled eggs! (timing just depends on your microwave strength)

Jules

what are beans under toast? is it the same as beans on toast, but erm, just under the toast instead..lol...is it that, a regional variation in cooking? lol
