Hi,
I've had my craft robo set up for a couple of days now and it's giving me nothing but headaches. I bought it to make life easier, and so I could add items to my business, but I'm just not getting to grips with it at all.
I know it's supposed to be able to cut vinyl signs up to 1000mm....how??
The tutorial dvd I got only covers the very basics, the instruction booklet is even worse, and right now I feel like throwing it in the bin. It's noisy, it's not cutting right through everything, and I'm just not getting on with it at all.
Has anyone got one and can you please advise. Right now I feel I've wasted £250 on the thing.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Karen! To be honest, I've never heard of a Craft Robo before (it reminds me of RoboCop :D) but after a bit of Googling, I see it's pretty cool!

This PDF seems to be a good picture tutorial on how to use it. It suggests that if it doesn't cut all the way through it the first time, you can recut it, as long as you don't move the carrier sheet. And I assume vinyl is cut the same way as paper/card? And I assume to cut vinyl signs that are a metre long, you'd have to put a metre-long strip in...
You've only had it a couple of days, don't give up :)
(Sorry I couldn't give you a proper link, it seems I'm too n00by to do that!)

I just watched a Youtube demo on the Craft robo. I can't say I really get it but it looks kind of cool. not that this helps you at all - sorry!
I'm shut up and go away now. :nopity:

I hated mine and after 4 weeks i sold it for a cricut. Sorry i haven't got any advice as such but uk scrappers have a whole section dedicated to craft robo, you may pick up some hints and tips there.
Good luck

Hi!
I've had my Craftrobo for a couple of weeks now and I admit I felt like you at first. I've spent a couple of weekends just playing with it and trial and error seems to be the order of the day! It doesn't help that there are two bits of software to get your head round. I think that when you cut vinyl you just feed it in without a carrier - I suppose it would have to be sideways but this is just a guess. However, there is a craftrobosupport.com website which has a forum where you may get answers. Keep trying it does get better with practice, although the bin man will probably refuse to take the large sack of card offcuts which I used trying to but an exploding box!
