Hi, I'm new to this site & hope it can help with ideas for a new hobby.
I'm interested in country crafts such as fabric hearts, samplers, etc plus wooden hearts & plaques with writing on them.
Does anyone know of a good supplier of linen, gingham, hessian, calico, wooden shapes, buttons, cinnamon sticks, etc who sells at a reasonable price & is reliable with delivery?
Any advice you can give would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
Sharon

Many thanks to everyone for your welcome posts, & especially to Neesy for the 2 sites - I went straight to them & saw loads of stuff which I liked, must now come up with ideas to use it!!
I used to make curtains, blinds, soft furnishings etc & was self-employed, but gave it up last year as it was getting too physical what with climbing ladders & heaving rolls of fabric about & getting that many orders that I never had a free moment, but am now missing sewing so will do it as a hobby but only for small(ish) items! My suppliers weren't into the kind of fabrics I'm looking for - so this is a whole new world for me. :)
Seeing as it's Mothering Sunday here's something that made me smile:-
Just when you thought you had time to yourself now that the kids were all grown up - along come the grandchildren & babysitting duties!!!
Cheers everyone!

Hello Sharon and welcome to the forum! (welcome)
Sounds like you are interesting in making similar items to me! I tend to buy most of my wood parts from calicocrafts.co.uk -they're having a sale at the moment and P&P is really reasonable!
Most of my fabrics I buy from Ebay and the following seller always stocks nice homespun and country fabric - thehomespunloft.co.uk or her Ebay shop is called Homespun Seasons Fabric Shop. Worth checking out!

Hi there
I currently make jewellery but my creativity started with sewing beads onto tops and then designing my own bags. There is a good website called 'josyrose.com' that inspired me with reasonably priced buttons and beads etc. Also if you are into jewellery making 'jillybeads.co.uk; is great- even if you just start off simply stringing some beads on to elastic cord to make bracelets.
Let me know what you think and good luck! :mf:
