Hi Caz, I don't know anything about YouCraftyLot, so I'd be really interested to find out more. I tried selling on Etsy but gave it up as a 'bad job' as I didn't make 1 sale!! Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Etsy has a big audience although there are lots of members on there now - approaching 1 million menbers but only about 13,000 actual shops I think. I know nothing about you crafty lot though so I can't advise you on that I'm afraid.

I think there was a thread about youcraftylot.com or at least it was mentioned on this forum somewhere recently as I checked out the site. I am tempted to join myself although as it's fairly new I don't know how successful it would either.

Hi, I can only speak of my experience with Etsy...

I have an Etsy store but I'm thinking of giving it up as I haven't had a sale yet. Etsy is huge and because of the exchange rate (dollar), I think it must be having an affect on UK sellers unless UK buyers are buying. For example if you want to sell something for £20.00 you have to list it as approx $40.00 which is a lot of money.
Does that make sense ?

I know of some people who have not been going long and already had a few sales so it depends on what you have to offer I suppose. Even if you promote on the forum there are 000's of posts and so you can easily get lost amongst the others.

My advice would be to try Etsy, each listing is 20c i think so you haven't got a lot to lose, only your time in listing items.

Don't understand why your stuff isn't selling?? It's gorgeous ~ and a very good price ;) How long have you have stuff listed on Etsy?

Something to think about?? When I first clicked on your shop the other day I thought you images look a bit dull. Now I'm no expert and my images aren't exactly brilliant, but you have to remember they're what really sell the product. As people tend to look at images before reading the details.
hth?
>>> Pm'ing you btw :)

YCL hadn't really got the traffic yet for me to give it a whirl. With Etsy I think a lot of it depends on the 'craft' you specialise in. I've sold 8 pieces on there over the past month all listed for around $35 although i've not listed again for a few weeks. I listed items from my website on there so in theory doubling my outlets. I wouldn't rely on Etsy but the more places I can advertise my products the better.
