I`m hoping to! I have a Fair on the 15th March so if I make lots of pennies (ohhh there goes a flying piggy) I may just have to go and spend it all at the NEC!

I can't wait for Friday. That's the day I'm hitting the show. I just need to rob a bank first as I have NO money to spend. It does gall me how much these things cost to get into. I forgot to preorder my ticket so it's nearly a tenner to get in plus about the same to park. £20 gone before you've looked at a single stand!!!!

I think I feel it more cuz I used to get in for nothing when I worked for Heritage. I had to work the show every day but at least I got chance to look round in the quieter spells.

Claire, are you at the cathedral fair on Saturday?

Hi
This event sounds great I have just had a look on the NEC website can I just confirm is it called Hobbycrafts as I couldn't see a listing for contemporary textiles?

I have just recently returned to my crafts after having my second daughter and hope this show might give me the inspiration I need.
Thanks
Sarah

Well iv been and spent a fortune... or what hubby will think it is a fortune anyway! It was great being childless this time. Never been on my own, i seen so much more. It was good, not as big as the christmas one though. Alot of embroidery and card making in the hobby craft bit! Not alot for my line of work though. Iv put a little diary of my time there on my blog if you fancy having a look, though i dont want to spoil a surprise if your going to go. :p

It's both. Sewing for Pleasure is the textiley one and price includes free entry to Hobbycraft which is also on.

I didn't make it in the end today. Have now rescheduled for Sunday. I'd forgottn that this morning I had to watch Evie's class production of the Easter story. By the time I'd left school I wouldn't have had long enough to see everything and be back at school again at 3.15.
To be honest I was thinking about knocking it on the head altogether - cost, travel, lack of spending cash. But a quick look on Bumblebee's blog and I've changed my mind again!! Thanks Bumble. I'm really excited now. Must've been fate that I decided to look. The one thing I REALLY want to get is some more wool to practice my needlefelting addiction!!!
Will also be visiting the fair at the Cathedral. Hope to see some of you. Shall I wear a red carnation in my buttonhole so you'll recognise me??? lol

I must admit, I was a bit disappointed with the textiles show today. Not a lot there to be honest (for me anyway). Did love the knitted ginger bread house though.

However I did go into the hobby craft hall and spend lots of pennies on a Sizzix 'big shot' and some die cutters :)

Looking forward to having a go a bit later

Oh you've really thrown me now Sam. Do I go or don't I???

Only want to buy wool roving which I could get online. Can't really afford to go as have NO spare cash at the mo and visiting show will definitely entail spending, BUT I don't want to feel I've missed something great. Have been going for so many years now.

Decisions, decisions....

Great to see Claire today. Did anyone else pop in to the Cathedral?

To be honest ethel I only saw one felting stall there - Don't know anything about wet felting, so couldn't comment on the items for sale?? But they did have roving/wool bags.
Could you not get your supplies from Sarah (blooming felt (http://www.bloomingfelt.co.uk/needle-felting-supplies--accessories-8-c.asp)) ... And i'm sure she would answer any questions you have.
