Hi :)

Looking for a bit of info (hope its in the right section!)

I have been making jewellery for a while now but I'd like to branch out and start making dichroic bracelets and rings. As I can't really afford a kiln at present, I was looking to buy cabochons and set them into bracelets/rings using art clay. Has anyone got any tips or advice on doing this as I'm a newbie and I don't have a clue!

Thanks!

If you want to incoporate Dichoric glass into work with metal clay then you will really need a Kiln. Torch firing pieces will cause the glass to probably crack as it wont be annealed properly.

I am a Senior Art Clay Instructor - have been teaching now for over a year- please drop me a pm if I can help any more. It could be that somebody in your area offers a kiln firing Service - we do at my studio at the shop - but we are in Edinburgh!
