Dear all,

Back again with some new pics to get feedback on. These are some little sets I've put together, hopefully for use as Xmas presents at the upcoming fairs. The wooden buckets are decorated and include a loofah, pumice stone, decorated mirror and nail brush as well as a pair of lilac nightlights in glass holders. I've done eight designs so far and would love some comments!

I've added the name of the design next to each one so you don't have to look at ones you wouldn't be interested in!

They are great, you should have no trouble selling them at the craft fair. I really like the Christmas one.

Cheers.

Thanks to you both for your comments. I'm going to be wrapping them in cellophane and ribbon so they should look nice enough to make a good Christmas present.

Really nice! I like the coral one:D

Glad you put the comment on about the camera playing up - I thought I'd eaten too much chocolate and it had affected my eyes hehehehe!!

I can also imagine you running around 'styling' the photos hehehehe!!:mf:

Why don't you use some of Lisa's candles? Personally, I think one of the cup cake ones would look simply divine in there - a little twist on a bath set!! Light a cake candle when having a bath!!;)

Oh Si!

They are lovely. If I received a set like that for Christmas, I'd be so pleased.

The work is just fabulous. And so detailed too.

Have you got some big piccies to display of just what goes in to all your work? Photos of you working will really hit it home to buyers that it's all done with hard work and huge skill by you.

Thanks for all the comments, I'm really pleased with the feedback.

Jules, I don't have pics of me working but I do tend to sit burning at the craft fairs... although everyone at the first Lacock event I did thought I was having a crafty smoke in the corner! :) I managed to make several eggcups, light pulls and keyrings at that event which keeps me busy and means I get lots of questions about the technique etc.

Off to bed...

I had all of these sets on show at the craft fair last weekend. My better half had wrapped them all in cellophane with lots of festive ribbon and herbs. They looked stunning and lots of people looked at them... but I didn't sell a single one. I wish I knew why!

That conjured up pictures of you sat with smoke pouring from you. Which might explain just why people stop, stare ands then walk away.

But I know how you feel. If I had a £ for all the times people said 'Oh, it's all so lovely' and then walked away I'd be very rich indeed!

I usually do some pyrography work while I'm at a fair so that people can see what is involved (like you suggested with the photographs a while back on another thread). Lots of people ask how I create the designs and what I use, and like to see the equipment etc. I always pause when people approach the table to say "Hello" (and also to make sure they don't collide with the table and cause me to stick a red hot piece of wire through my finger!)

It was the other sellers who made the joke about a crafty smoke in the corner!

Perhaps as a brief opinion, Jules, you might PM me how much you think you would buy the bathroom kits for? You've got tons of experience. Then I could see how my actual price compares and if I've overpriced them.

selling these. I absolutely love original things like this that are not mass produced in the shop - they are better made for a start and when people take the time out to go to craft fairs rather than their local supermarket or shopping centre, there's a lot more thought goes into the gift itself.

Fabulous idea - I love them.
