I've never posted pics before and have just opened a Flickr account so I hope this works. Basically these are some new pieces I've created for the upcoming Lacock Christmas fairs and I'd love some feedback!
I've also done lots of Christmas designs (spoons, spatulas, Xmas tree decs, etc) but they are staying under wraps for now... they will be unveiled at the Christmas Fair in Lacock on 1st December!
Please leave comments saying what you think!

Si.

Got it in one, that's exactly what I'm hoping for. I've focussed on items between the £3-£5 mark, along with some nice gift bags, to tempt people into buying extra gifts as stocking fillers.

...really truly blown away!

Si, you are incredibly talented. The detail is just amazing. Seriously contemplating a brush & mirror for the DD's stocking...she's not quite 18 but as an ex-A Level art student she would so appreciate the work that goes into your stuff.

I do sooo wish I could draw - just how I got through my art exams I know not!

I've looked through all the photos, your stuff is wonderful!

How many fairs shall I book you in for? I'll send you next years list, compiled today.....

Jules

Oh my word!!

I did 'a bit' of pyography when quite young (about 10) and loved it! But I think it was the smell of burning wood that got me! My mum and dad still have the really really naff coasters I made. They are that bad my son (4) looked horrified when I said I'd made them when I was a little girl..... he put it back without saying a word (most unlike him!)

So, I maybe having a look at your website.....!!

PS love the Dr Who ones!!!!:D

So many positive responses, I'm simply overwhelmed! I might just have to make sure all of you come to the Craft Fairs at Lacock this December... that should make sure I have a good trade!

I'm going to try and answer all the questions and responses so please bear with me...

Swirly, thanks for your PM. I will be putting more on Etsy after the Christmas fairs. I'm also quite happy to sell direct as it means that I don't lose all those little % fees that sites like Etsy take. If anyone does want to contact me about a stocking filler, PM or email me! I have been trying to find small magnets to make fridge magnets... any ideas where I can get them from?

Katianne, glad you like the Star Wars designs, may the Force be with you!

Tip Top and incywincy: at the moment, I have only made one snowman coaster. It's actually an 'oversized' coaster (nearer the size of a small plaque) but I think I may have to consider making more! It has been treated with a Danish oil to give it a lovely glow and feel, but could be varnished if required for added protection.

Jules, email me the list of your events and I will see which ones I'm able to do. Don't think I'll be going to any in Cheddar though... ;) PM me if you want a brush and mirror.

I'm going to be adding more pics to Flickr over the next few days, including my Christmas designs so keep your eyes peeled!

Si.

OK - another question for you to answer - are your door plaques varnished? We need one for the company to go by the front door and even though we should have got one a year ago I still haven't got round to it yet!! Might be interested in you doing one for us.

Door plaques are always treated with at least four coats of satin yacht varnish, to protect them against the elements. They are best looked after if given a fresh coat every 3-4 years. I also use satin varnish that has UV inhibitors as this helps reduce the effects of sunlight that can lead to fading.

Get in touch if you do decide you want one so we can discuss sizes, shapes, lettering, logos, cost, etc etc.

Si, you are so talented and i think you will have no problem selling these wondefull works of art.

I have been trying to find small magnets to make fridge magnets... any ideas where I can get them from?

Try ebay or you could try locally the 'Inkspot' art shop in Swindon they have a fast range of craft items and i have bought in the past small magnets from them Tel. 01793 537775
also Studley Grange Craft Village Wroughton, Swindon, they have a number of craft units Snazzy Bear Tel: (01793) 855377 is probally your best bet.

Debs, thanks for the compliments! Looking forward to the 1st December very much. I've got a four day weekend off after today and I think I will definitely be smelling of wood smoke by the end of it as I've got a lot of making I still intend to do.
