Soooo Cold!

Im sitting here in my flat and its blooming freezing, the weather seems to have just turned overnight here. It doesnt help that we have these rickety old windows that still lets the wind blow in through the gaps! Brrrrrrr

We were like that Saturday night, until after much nagging hubby got round to bleeding the rads yesterday morning and by last night we were absolutely sweltering!!! LOL. But we live in an old house too with sash windows and the draught certainly gets through!

I'm currently at work sat in my office with my big winter coat on. The radiator doesn't work.

I'm sooo cold and can hardly move my fingers to type!

Stuff old newspaper folded up into the gaps in your windows! We once found some sheets dated June 1908 in an old house we'd rented. Unfortunately because they were so old, and had gotten wet we couldn't unfold them to read what the day's news had been!

I'm praying for rain myself - it's carnival here tonight and the kids want to go. I'm not prepared to stand in the cold & wet & wind for hours on end. I know lots of folk worked hard to produce floats & costumes etc etc but it does absolutely nothing for me. Bah humbug and all that....

Ditto - you took the words right out my head Jules ! Was just about to recommend the same trick, having tried it many times on old victorian sash windows myself and it always makes a big difference !
