Just told my parents whats been going on at work and betwixt my tears we managed to compile a letter of resignation. This letter was alot more polite than the letter I compiled on Friday night after having a little drinky.
Maybe theyl want me to leave, maybe they will realise they actually need me.
Who knows.
The saga continues.

awww, that's what mum's and dad's are for!!
Glad you are feeling better.
Of course they will realise they need you... the question you need to ask yourself is, do you need them?
And i think you know what the answer is to that one!!
Good luck, :)

Good you can give them 4 weeks notice and use your 4 weeks holiday up and don't have to go back.
It's great having your parents behind you, they must have been really annoyed with your bosses to help draught up a letter.
Good luck,
Lisa

Thanks guys.
The way I see it is that Im giving them 6 weeks notice, 2 more weeks work here then 4 weeks made up of holiday, then I wont ever have to come back again.
For some reason I feel really sick today(I suppose as I have done the last few days)but surely today should be a happy day.Its like an adventure.Im scared witless of the future, especially if I leave, also if they try to make me stay.
If they offer me more money the senior members of staff arnt going to improve so the pooh is gona hit the fan if I address that issue.
So I think Im definately leaving.

Would you be happy if you stayed on and they offered more money? Don't think you would because the fiasco the other week could (and more likely would happen) because nothing would have changed your bosses would still be the same.
You are young and it is surprising what you can do when you really need to. You can get stuck in a rut in one job and it's not until you need to leave you realise what you can achieve.
Good luck and I am sure you will get an absolutely fantastic new job.
Cheers.

Well done! You go girl!
When I left my last job I was owed 2 weeks holiday, so I worked my 4 weeks notice finished work at the end of the month and started my new job about a week later. You don't actually have to take the holiday, they have to pay you for it, unless you want a month off I suppose.
I s'pose what I am getting at is that until your notice period is served you are still officially employed by your company, some contracts specify that you cannot work for anyone else whilst employed for that company, so if you take four weeks leave as your notice period you cannot start work until that four weeks is up.
I would call the citizens advice bureau if I were you, there may be some way of getting a severance package as you are leaving, not because you found a new job, but because you can't work there any longer due to the way they treat you.
See me? Empowered when other lovely ladies are being treated poorly at work!:D

Have to admit im in no rush to get a new job(partly too lazy, partly too scared).Said to parents i need some 'me' time so I may take 6 months off and do nothing, I may go travelling for a year.
But Im going to enjoy my holiday until the new year and then sort my life out.

My evil side is really taking over.
When I leave they will have to get someone else and I wont be here to train them.So my bosses will have to train them.Mwohahahahha.
Then again if im so rubbish at my job, makes sense for me not to train them.

Well done Seahorse on taking the bull by the horns and making such a big decision, very brave and am sure will be a huge relief when it is done. I was in a job I absolutely hated a couple of years back as a Sales manager, I had been with the company for about 6 years, was in the Barnstaple branch to start with which I loved, then moved back up to Essex and transferred to one of the branches up here, they were threatened with closure so moved to another branch up here in Chelmsford, and I hated every minute of it. It was so stressful and the management were absolute pooh, added to that it was a good hours drive there and back every day down the A12, I used to get home every night in tears and was such a stressed out miserable bitch to live with. So me and hubby sat down and worked out our finances and decided I could just chuck it in, and I did!! They offered me more money to stay and made all sorts of promises, but it was sooooo good being able to tell them were to stick it!! I took a month off and then started looking for another job and and immediately got the one I am in now, which I love so much, and am soooo happy and a completely different person, no stress, lots of support and good money, plus its part-time so I get to run my little craft business too. So good luck Seahorse and hope it turns out as good for you, which I am sure it will.:D

Last day is 3rd Dec.Offically leave at end of year as the months notice covers my holidays which im owed.
Erm I kind of feel stress free as I dont have to stay here and had a chat with parents, they obviously want me to get a job which I know il have to get but I also said I need to sort my head out and i said if I want to take a few months off I will(I have savings to live on).Dont think they were too keen but they understood. My mum even said 'if you want to go to America and ride a horse across it then do it!' so she wants me to grab life.
So I feel good, as for the immediate future im just going to kick back, but also feel very sick as I need to get a job that pays 30 grand, I have no skills and no confidence. Not ideal.

About 10 years ago I went to America by myself for a month - it was a really liberating experience. I'd just finished uni, broken up with my ex (who had said something about how I was always too scared to do anything) and thought s*d it before I get stuck in a job rut I'm gonna do something I wouldn't normally. Bought a flight, a rough guides book, a rucksack and went. Had my first night's hotel booked but after that it was getting something on the night where-ever I may be. Ended up in Maine first as the greyhound bus did an overnight bus there and then just went where I fancied (and where Greyhound went).
Got talking to some very interesting people and also learnt how to avoid weirdos at the bus stations etc - was a fab time and as you have no ties at the mo might be worth thinking about a little bit of travelling. BTW hubby was very impressed about this when we met and still feels the need to tell people about it - think it's cos it's SOOOOOOO unlike me normally :D

I feel Ive done so little travelling that Id get lost.Dont even know what to do or where to go at an airport.
But at least traveliing is an option, if I want to spend £5,000 of my own money going to a foreign country then I will, (stamps foot firmly on the floor).
I am thinking of spending a few nights in londo, just roaming around, eating out, seeing shows (ahem, buyingbeads)etc but I think thats as brave as I can be.
Can you believe I was told by my boss to have an early lunch coz they have to go out to do jobs, ive comeback and neither are rushing out the door.God that winds me up.Makes my afternoon alot longer!!

My approachable boss just talked to me about 'the letter' he checked on my last day and said he'd try to get all my payment to me for then.
He asked'Have you got another job?' I replied 'No, I just had to go' with a mini chuckle, then quickly followed it up with 'I just need more money really'.
They dont seem too bothered.Neither bosses that picked on me have said anything.

You know what? Royal Mail works in mysterious ways, I bet it will get to it's destination, and mores to the point, it will get there by tommorrow!
You know how I know this?
I get NOTHING delivered to my flat with my name on it, however, if I put half the address and boyf's name on a package, it'll get here, and it will be delivered next day!
My mum sent me a package from Australis, addressed correctly, but to my old flat, luckily I knew the people that stayed there so I called them and asked for it to be sent on when it arrived. It never arrived, but over four months later, it ended up at my parents house with "Non-existent address" printed all over it!
So, I am soon to recieve the most well travelled books in the entire world for one of the books is a bead book, published in UK, obviously exported to Australia - bought by my mum, posted to UK, sent back to Australia as undeliverable, THEN finally, packed into a relatives suitcase and is now in England, where I am driving tommorrow for the weekend, and I will bring it back to Glasgow.... I am going to Orkney in January, migt have to take the book with me just so it can continue it's travels
Sorry, a bit off topic there, but should amuse someone!
