The environment agency just rang and told us to get out and take any pets with us.
Should i be worried????
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Do you think a wall of smileys would keep the surge out????
No it wont because i'm only allowed 10 smileys.
And at a time like this as well.

Not going no where.
Moved lots of vehicles up to higher ground and moved all our photo albums up stairs... that took a while i got a bit distracted by them... haha who knew we'd had such fun times!!
Hubbie and his pal have gone to the sea front high tide 10.50 tonight but the one they are scared about is about 10 in the morning i think.
hmmm watch this space.
Pray for the wind to drop.

I heard about it on Radio 2 - hope everything will be ok. I think they said on the news that it was 7 in the morning that the surge would be. I'll do a wind dance for to you bring it over this side of the country ;)

Was thinking about you ICG when I saw about it on the local news earlier. Lets hope it's a case of the environment agency preparing for the worst and that it passes without too much flooding. Do look after yourself though.

flooding is so distructive i really hope you are spared.
We still have lots of houses that are empty and waiting for work followingthe summer floods. Hull is even worse there are whole streets where everyone is living in caravans in their roads and driveways.

Got away with it last night....
but the tide is very high, going on to the sea road, and the next high tide is in about an hour i think.
It's really sunny which is quite strange to be worrying about flooding in the sun shine, but it's very windy and i think it's mostly about wind direction..
A friend of ours lives down the Ferry, and he got wet last night, good job hubbie helped him jack his house on to stilts a few years ago!!
The environment agency are filling sand bags.....
Oh the best bit is there's an evacuation point to go to if necessary.... a school which is about 100 yards down the road.
ie, NOT any higher than the houses that would be evacuated!!!!
Aren't the council fab.
Thanks for all the thoughts..

I used to live right on the beach, you had to go down a wooden staircase to get to the actual sand, and then it was about 10m to the actual water at high tide, we had a king tide one night and instead of having to walk a few metres to the water, you stepped off the bottom step into it. It was quite cool but I guess there was no danger of it getting into the house.
