Oh yes they are for sale!! They are up on Etsy at the mo but just pm me if you want details! The presents and the chickens may be made out of different paper though that's the only difference.

I love the sentiment. They're really cute. You could write a book '101 things to make with a Swirly chicken' :mf:

I love it too! I've just found it. Both turkeys and chickens are safe in our house at any time of the year! I can't say the same for cows and pigs and sheep though!
Honestly, turkeys are so UGLY only their mums could love them, and chickens are all totally, utterly insane. They look at you with those mad little eyes......my grandma kept homicidal chickens -White Leghorns, the big 'uns, and Rhode Island Reds. When I was tiny it was my job to get the eggs, and after having been attacked by a manic chook, I took to taking the yard-brush into the henhouse to push the little blighters off the nestboxes!!!
I'm afraid that I'm still very uneasy around chooks: I think they're always Planning Something Evil.;)

I'm pretty new to this forum and trying to get to know everyone. What is the reason that your crafts are focused around chickens, swirly?
I used to have chickens, they figured out their pecking order by ganging up on the kitten and taking it in turns to peck her "you peck, now I peck, then you peck!" t'was very funny!
Kitty tried to get revenge by jumping on the back of one, the only thing she accomplished however was a (very fast) ride to the other end of the garden, before falling off the chicken!
I love chickens, they have so much character, my four had very distinct personalities

Do you know I have no idea my crafting is focused on chickens!! I developed the idea of the doorstop ones and then it kind of spiralled from there! I have started adding some chicken related items to my favourites on etsy which is a little worrying!

Pebbles,
I know quite a few people who keep chickens and they all say the same as you! I don't mind looking at them, but I get uneasy if they begin to advance on me - I KNOW they're only hopeful for food, but I always think they're going to gang up on me!
I also like having a source or two of really fresh organic eggs, which are truly delicious. My grandma used to call eggs Cackleberries, and evil or not, her chickens gave us lovely eggs.
It doesn't help that I was attacked by a gander when I was making a visit to a farm. I was adult, and that gander was only doing his job, but by gum with his wings out and his neck stretched, he was almost as big as me. He was followed by his harem, all egging him on.
I love your kitten story! I can just see it happening!
And Swirly, you ought to look at your crafty things - they're all chickeny!:mf:
