Yarn trouble

I've got my hands on a crochet magazine from the 60s and want to make a tank top I've found in there. My problem is that it asks for Patons 101 Courtelle Crepe and I can't find this anywhere. I've googled it and nothing came up that was any help. I popped into John Lewis yesterday and was told by two people they were sewers and couldn't help with a wool question! I just want to know what this yarn is like and see if I can substitute it for DK as this is what I'm most used to and I think it'll look a lot better. Can anyone help??

I recently knitted with a crepe yarn for the first time since the 70's It was Sirdar Wash'n'Wear double crepe. I just bought it in the early summer so it could still be on the go. If you can't find double crepe just substitute a double knit you like. If the sizing turns out to be a little small or big just adjust your hook size up or down a size.
