Camelot have just recalled a winter scratch card, because most customers couldn't determine whether they had won or not.

You had to scratch off a temperature, and then find one that was lower than that number. Hardly the trickiest topic, but people have been complaining because they couldn't work out whether -8 was higher or lower than -6!

Linky (http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/1022757_cool_cash_card_confusion).

"On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't.

"I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher - not lower - than -8 but I'm not having it.

And they say that the customer is always right ;)

I just love the sheer pig-headed approach - they may be mathematically right, but I don't understand it, and therefore "I'm not having it".

There's a great comment that says

I think she is quite within her right to claim a prize. Give her the -£5,000 now

no wait. give her -£10,000 cos that's more init?
