Using A Hoop

I'm thinking of trying 28 count Evenweave for a cross stitch, is it a good idea to use a hoop with this material ??

Don't know about a hoop - I'd be using binoculars! Why don't you bother with Aida? ;)

I've done a cross stitch on linen before and I did use a hoop as it keeps it taut and that way it's easier to see the 'grain'. Failing that I'd put it on a frame and use a magnifier, but it does grow very quickly on linen.
