I was hired for a day to stand on the door of a drinking enclosure for Newbury racecourse. Me and this other guy were given these hideous blazers and had to talk down all these giddy bankers and City types who kept trying to bribe us to let them out of the enclosure with their drinks. That experience began a lifelong hatred of blazers.

Hope your temping experience is more positive Pauline!

So how did it go?

:DWell to be honest, the first day was booooooorrrrring!! Its been years since I've done any reception work and it was quiet. It did'nt help that I'm not as of yet on the computer system (today I will be though), so I could not get fully into the job.

I suppose in a way it was a good start because it gave me a chance to get to know whats what and who is who - lots of people work there so don't think I will get to know too many.

Best thing of all was they actually pay for your lunches!! And when I say lunch, I mean anything from a home cooked meal to cream cakes, bagettes, salads, crisps, fruit, chips, full cooked breakfast - the works!!!

The hardest thing for me today will be having to decide what I am going to have for lunch :D - yesterday I had a beef salad bagette and its was blooming luverly!! Think I might finish of with a spot of trifle today!

It's only 5 mins down the road from me as well - another bonus! Have to now see if they need anybody full time in the offices upstairs me thinks!

I did a bit of temping work years and years ago. I didn't really have a worst one, but I did do reception work in a company where everybody worked upstairs..... That was fairly dull. Especially as their phone never rang!!

Sorry a bit late catching this thread - I'm at home this week (preparing for first craft fair on Sunday!) so not been on the computer as much as hubby monopolises (sp?) it....

Sounds like there are some good perks - free food :D always a winner!!;)
