View Full Version : Is this a cheeky request?

Hello all...
Bear with me here:(is that the right spelling for 'bear' in this context?)
Firstly - sorry I've not been around for ages - baby keeping me busy, currently sleeping!!

Now then - just been reading the previous thread about the approach from a mail order company, making me think...

I'd like to take Craft Party in a more exclusive direction and offer crafting products that customers can't see in most craft shops. But, things quiet at the moment due to maternity leave etc and have limited money for new stock.
So, am wondering - is anyone interested in offering their own products on a 'make them up as and when they are ordered' basis??
I sell products for 'doing' crafts rather than made up handmade items - so I'm thinking card toppers, kits for fabric projects, that sort of thing.
I'm making no promises about sales but it is another way to get your stuff out there and all I'd want would be one example of the proposed product (we do our own photography) and an agreement that the product will be available on request (but you could put a time limit on this.)
OK, I'll wrap up now... so sorry if you think this is a cheek... but I suspect it's more of an opportunity.
Cheers,
Mel

Thats a good idea, not sure you would be able to take cake toppers along with you?? How much would you charge for this service. :)

But to do this, would you not have to have a link of some type to our websites so potential customers could see what we can offer them?

Or are you wanting crafters to send you some of our work for you to display and take orders from those 'sample's'

Pauline :)

Hi Mel, it's nice to see you on the boards again. Hope the little one is behaving for you.

I would class this more of an opportunity than i cheek myself and i would be more than willing to help out. As you know i make cards so would be quite easy to just make toppers instead. If you are interested then let me know roughly what you are looking for and i could send you samples and see where it goes.

Hope business is good for you ATM and hope your enjoying motherhood.

I'd be interested too!! Let me know how you would want it to work and if you think my products would suit. My most recent items are on my Etsy page - he link is in my signature.

Hope the little one is ok and that you are getting some sleep!!

Thanks for all the positivity everyone. Little one is an absolute delight and I'm loving every minute of it.

To answer the questions:
If I was to feature your product I'd ask you to send me a sample of it(them) which I would photograph in our house style. The product would be included in a printed handout which gets distributed to our sales team and which they show to customers. It would also be featured on our website.
If you wanted to you could provide us with a number of samples which we would distribute to our team, but that is completly up to you.
You could include a business card, web address or similar with your product when it is ordered, so the customer could explore what else you have to offer at a later date.
I'll have a look at what you guys have on offer and contact you if it fits in with our range.
Thanks again all,
Mel

I'd be interested too as I make all my own toppers and embellishments!

Please PM me with more details or email me directly!

Little one will get easier - honest!;)
