Hi
I've got a problem with my soaps. The ones that are shrink-wrapped are OK but the samples I've got out have started to weep (for want of a better description). I've got a de-humidifier and that seemed to work for a while but with all the rain we've been having up here (north coast of Scotland) I think it's fighting a losing battle!
Any suggestions or do I just have to stop leaving unwrapped soaps out for people to smell?

Are they M&P soaps?
I always find my M&P tends to warp or 'weep' unless they're wrapped - except for the ones in opaque which are fairly well stuffed with scrubby stuff... They seem to be absolutely fine...
I did read somewhere that it's the glycerine in the base attracted to the air - so yes, different humidities will have a slightly different effect...
I wrap them and slice the ones I want to use for sniffing into fine slivers and just leave one or two of those out with the rest tucked away in a bag for later - or maybe little chunks in a pot with a lid might be more suitable depending on the style of the slices you use...
If it's CP soap - I've not had any problem with those no matter how long I leave them out or where... They just harden up some more the longer they're out...:p

cp weeps if wrapped in saran wrap,
m&p sweats if not wrapped in saran wrap.

Hi
I've sorted the problem - I washed the samples so they were nice and clean and now I store them in a polystyrene box at night. Takes a couple of minutes to stash them and get them out again next morning and have lovely samples for my customers.
Thanks for your help
Maggie

I use the thin skrink wrap. You can still smell the product through it.
