I find that glue dots work better on glass - don't know if it is the heat of the glass melts the glue gun stuff cause when I use a glue gun on glass the wick floats away. Glue dots seem to hold it down. You need to have the wick in a sustainer first (you should do that with glass anyway so that the flame doesn't reach the very bottom of the glass and burn someones nest of tables!!!! and how would you think I know that???
Cheers.

Thanks lisa. I have loads of glue dots and cant belive that i didnt think to use them in the first place. I have been using sustainers but couldnt remember what they were called. Have you used the wicks that come with the sustainers attached or do you add your own. That is what I am doing at the moment, but when I have used all my wick I may be tempted to buy them already done.

I use both. I tend to get a bag to use for tealights and another for votives as they are all the same size so get loads for them (saves me having to do it). Use the sustainers and wick on the others.
Cheers.

Glue dots do it for me too... 12mm size... Never used a glue gun...
If you have trouble getting the wick into the jar and pressing it down if the neck's a bit narrow - slip it into a straw first and then hold the wick through the straw which'll be a bit longer than the wick so you can turn the glass upside down to check you're plonking it in the right spot - and push on the straw onto the assembly... Gives a nice seal...
