Im doing write ups for new stuff and i have made a few long necklaces, to the point were they can be easily placed over the head without need of a clasp, but in all cases I have added a clasp to finish the wire ends off neatly.
In my write ups do you think its worth pointing out wether its a hook/bolt clasp or any info as its not really a necesity or a selling point?

Can you see the clasp in the picture? You might not have to if you can see it. You could always add it as an extra selling point - something along the line of 'just in case you have just had your hair styled you can use the handy clasp'!

Nope, it wont be in the picture.
I agree they are handy to have especially after an expensive hairdoo.
I was measuring the necklaces last night and my longest is 44inches!!!!But my thoughts are that flared torusers are gona be in fashion so Im thnking long hippy necklaces to go with it...thats my excuse and im sticking to it.

Aha!! I just had a flash of inspration.
I can say it has a clasp so it can be worn if the wearer wants to wrap it twice around the neck! The opening would make it easier.

You have probably just saved my life.................I've just finished a 26" Russian Spiral necklace, and put a clasp on it - like you do - then Nina says, "shouldn't it go over her head?" and I think, that's another 7 hours work to do! I shall now use your theory of being able to double it! :D

I just finished a 42" necklace for my sister and she's asked for one that's just over 50" yikes!!!
I always put a bolt ring clasp, I know they go over your head but sometimes people like to double (or triple!) them up in which case you would need a clasp

Am i being thick??
Surely if they are that long you can double them up without a clasp??

You should be able to but if your head is that bit bigger then a clasp helps if you want it to go round 3 or 4 times. I have a necklace that I can double round easily but if I want it to go round 3 times then I have to use a clasp - hope that clears it up for you!

It's fine until you get someone who wears glasses, and rips the beading apart when it gets caught on them! I have made a policy decision to put clasps on everything, then the option is the customers. :) Having said that, I'm going through a phase of making peyote toggles instead of using metal clasps. :)

True glasses are a pain - although mine fall off all the time anyway whether or not I'm putting a necklace on!!
