I have recently bought Suzen Millodot's book 'Chinese knots for beaded jewellery' and now, having mastered some of the knots, I am on a mission to find beads like the ones she uses in her work. This is proving more difficult that I initially thought and I seem to be spending a lot of time searching in the wrong places! Has anyone found a UK based website that has a good stock of interesting or unusual large holed beads that are suitable for using with 2-3mm satin cord? I particularly like the ceramic tubular style. Also I was after some of the flat washers that she uses quite a lot in her work too.
If anyone has any suggestions they would be gratefully received!!! Thank you!

I am a great fan of lampwork beads and I think they would match up beautifully with Chinese knotting. They also tend to have larger holes than most beads.
There are lots of very talented lampworkers in the UK. Some of them sell on ebay - always check their 'me' page - most of them have a website listed there. There is also a list of lampworkers on the uk-beaders site

I have some large hole 15mm spacers & some other lampwork beads with holes on the large side on my website that may be of use....

Thank you both for your suggestions. I shall get looking for some nice lampwork. I definitely like the 15mm spacers esp the orange!!! I also managed to find a local lady who makes her own large ceramic beads which would look good too. Thanks again, Colette
