Hi.
I'm looking to buy some pale pink shot silk. If anyone can recommend a shop/seller, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Is it decent quality? I can't believe that a metre of 100% shot silk including postage is cheaper than a metre of felt !
Ah that I don't know yet !!
It looks nice on the piccies ....?!
Fabric arrived this morning and it's boootiful.
I'm more than happy with the quality of it and will be making bags from it.
I'm not sure it's 100% silk (in fact, I'm fairly certain it isn't) so I suppose it depends on what you want shot-silk for.

Excellent !! I'm definitely going to order some then. I noticed that on some of his listings it said "this is not 100% silk" and on others it didn't so I presuming that where nothing is mentioned that it is actually 100%. I'm not that bothered as I'm planning on using it to produce textile pictures from, so as long as it finishes up nicely I'm not worried.
Am off to order now :D

JBJB - just wanted to see if that shot silk you bought was a sort of 2-tone? I've been told that shot silk is usually a 2 tone fabric and dupion is just one colour. Just wanted to get your opinion on it though :)
Yes it is - sort of an irridescenty shimmer is the best way I can think of desbribing it.
Note - it's definitely not silk, but it's not acetate either, it frays very quickly, but I would be happy to use it for cushions or stuff like that.
Gawd, I'm panicking now in case you buy some and then think "this is cr*p" !!
Put it this way, I wouldn't make a bridesmaid's dress out of it.....

I'm gonna get some. I need it to actually sew on to rather than cut up into little bits, so if it frays at the edges it really doesn't matter - the edges will be hidden behind the mount anyway.
Will let you know what I think when it arrives - and I'm sure it won't be cr*p !!
