Hello all,
I have difficulty getting around on this forum and I am still getting used to computers, so please forgive me if I do not do as much on here as I ought. I do watch things here though and there are some lovely crafts on display.
Last week, I stumbled upon a youtube tutorial for making cold porcelain and I was quite excited about the prospect of making cp flowers. I can make roses but as yet, I have much to learn and research about the way flowers are constructed before moving on to something more sophisticated. I am interested in irises and daisies, lilies and simple ones as well such as crocuses. The cp recipe turned out great and I have managed to make some smooth cp which I am very pleased with. Its very different to Sculpey though and I need to get used to it.
I have over the last six months been practicing with Living Doll polymer clay and I am doing all right making art dolls-........until I come to dress them. Sewing little clothes for 6" dolls is very difficult for me so I was thinking of making angels/fairies next to flowers made of cold porcelain.
Is anyone else on here using cp? If so, is it possible to use it tastefully with sculpey figures?
I also wondered if I could make 'fabric' clothes with it but wondered how compatible the two mediums are together.

Thank you, hope this post made sense

Hi, I have made cp and used it for flowers etc on my sculpts. I usually just have them on the base or in their hands.
As cp is air drying, I think you will have to be sure your finished baking your figures before you add the cp.
Hope it works, let us know how you get on darl.

Thank you Pepsi.
I will have a go. I notice that it is important to work much more quickly with the cp.
I understand that the cp is dissolvable because it can be dampened when being used, but I find it gets quite sticky if I do that. I am still getting used to it.
Have you ever rolled out cp to make clothes for your dolls.
I like the way it dries really hard. Surely it cannot dissolve once set because the glue I used is a kind of pva and that cannot dissolve once set. I used padding glue which is used in the printing trade - a bit like Modpodge - and it seems ok. I suspect all these tacky glues are basically the same composition. I understand that a sealant is advised when it is finished.

I looked on your blog and I love your work. Did you make the pink rose for your Rose Fairy with polymer or cp? It looks very delicate and pretty.
