Are there any other parents of small children that I can PM about a toilet-related problem I'm having with my 5 year old son.

I don't want to offend anybody by posting all the details in this public forum, but basically, he is refusing to use the toilet any more and just really want some reassurance from anybody else who's been through the same.

Let me know if I can PM you the details for a "chat" !

Cheers
Emma

Have PM'd you too :)

It's starting to cause some strain in the house now which is getting me down. I've got a meeting on Monday which I have to get samples ready for so I hope tomorrow I can just shut the door on it all and let Daddy have a day with him.

We have lift off !!!

Thanks to everyone who PM'd me.

In the end daddy told him once he'd done what he needed to do in the right place, he'd take him out to buy the new Charlie and Lola dvd!

Hey presto, bob's your uncle, fanny's your aunt ....
It was as if the past 2 weeks had never happened!

Phew!

Phew!

Isnt it amazing how a little bit of bribery works wonders sometimes !

Just shows they can do it properly if they want to too - cheeky monkeys that kids are ! I have a 3yr old who thinks its ok to just pee down the garden drain...:mummy:

Now he's watched his Charlie and Lola DVD we're back to square one!

This is going to cost a bl**dy fortune at this rate!

i have an 8 year old and a 4 year old and sometimes the costly method works and sometimes you have to use the tuff love bit and put your foot down and tell it like it is  and once in a while nothing works and thing sort themselves out in the end but try not to turn it into a bit deal or they will know our weak points :sm:

Oh no... the naughty little monkey ! I guess your back to tough love and letting him walk around in his poopy pants ('cos it wont feel nice..yuk..?) or you could tell him all his friends will think hes a baby... but I'm guessing you've tried all this already !?

On a more encouraging note, this happened to a friend of mine too and eventually her little boy just seemed to grow out of it again.. - kids eh !!:p
