I'm not really used to posting pictures of what I do but I thought I'd give it a go. Here are a couple of paintings I did recently:

One of my kittens (http://www.geekish.myzen.co.uk/craft/kittenpainting02.jpg).

A lion (http://www.geekish.myzen.co.uk/craft/lion01.jpg).

I make friendship bracelets on the odd occasion too and this was one I did recently although I admit they don't look so good on photo:

Skull bracelet (http://www.geekish.myzen.co.uk/jewellery/images/skull.jpg).

Lovely paintings - you certainly have talent - I can just about manage a match stick man (or maybe even match stick cats and dogs!!!).

Cheers.

No I don't sell anywhere and I haven't really tried I must admit. I think it's partly because I just don't really know anyone who does this sort of thing and sometimes trying to get into that part of it can be made easier if you can take advice from people who are in the know, but my other problem is confidence. I lack it and think why would someone buy something I do when there's much better stuff out there. Like they could just buy a photo and frame it rather than a painting. So for me to come on here and see all you talented people and hear some of you selling your stuff I think it's cool.

I don't know when/if I'll be ready to do the selling thing. I'd like to but it's the... what if no-one wants it and I don't sell anything, what if I'm no good, how do I sell it, what about packaging and posting, all that kind of thing kind of scares me a bit.

I'm a bit useless, heehee. :D

You're not useless at all.
We all go through the 'everyone else is better at it than me' feeling, well I definitely do almost everyday :o but looking at your paintings.. they probably aren't! You are very talented.

I feel the same way about my stuff but Im doing it anyway, if people knew how petrified I was of doing this business thingy, theyd avoid me like the plague!!

Love your paintings - your very talented. I've tried to have a go with painting but i'm no good at it. I'm sure if and when you try to sell you won't have any problemss - they're great.

Your paintings are much better than a lot of stuff I've seen and for which people are charging ridiculous sums (including a lot of the exhibits at the recent Royal Academy exhibition!).

I know all about the lacking confidence thing, I'm pretty expert at it myself ;), but if you enjoy doing it then carry on.

I thought alot of these things before I started selling my artwork. I think the hardest thing is realising that not everyone will like what you do, but know that you have a talent, which you do and then give it a go:). Have you got an ebay account because you could start there. Some people have lots of sucess with selling arts and crafts on ebay, but you do have to keep prices as low as you can, still make some for yourself though. Do some research on there too. I started low with some of my nursery paintings and then gradually raised prices on ones which sold well. I still sold them at the higher price:)

If you need anymore advice PM me and I'll try and help. I'm still learning all the time, but people on here are really helpful and you can only learn by giving it a go.

Oh wow what a talent!! I can only draw and paint from copying something, can then work out the lines etc, so to do your kitten is brilliant, well done. A lot of people love paintings of their pets so maybe this is something you could expand into, I know one lady who does it and is very successful, she mainly does it from photos people send her, and having seen your work you are just as good as her. :)

Oh thanks. :) Just to say though my boyfriend is a pretty cool photographer so he does give me some pretty nice photos to select from if I'm painting. He also took the lion photo too although I don't have one of those as a pet, that was from a wildlife park. :D
