I've just been experimenting with an idea....."upcycling" these old pine packing cases from Mother in law's shed. The cane needs to dry and then be trimmed and I don't know whether I'm going to get time to line the boxes before the show at Stock Gaylard on Saturday, but I'll try!
Not sure what I'd use them for, but I did enjoy myself making them. I've written up the full story on our blog.

I love them. You could just put some felt inside but you don't need to do anything else to them do you. Their charm is what they are.

I just love these. They would be ideal to display my fabric bags on my craft stall. You/they are very good.

They are super - can see two uses for them either lined with fabric as kitchen storage or planted up as a herb planter. I want one.......................... wah!

Oh wow thanks everyone. I was really dubious about what people would think of them, my OH was very patient with me, (as usual!) but I could see in his face he had his doubts and thought it was an off the wall idea. I'm hoping to get them lined this afternoon - decided to use hessian - that was OH's suggestion, he thought it would look right with the rustic-ness!
Some great ideas from all about what to use them for, thanks everyone and Ros.....they will be on our working stand at Stock Gaylard Oak Fair this Saturday....., would be great to meet you!
I'll post a finished piccie this evening.

Beat me to it - I was going to suggest either felt or hessian. Would love to see a picture of them with lining in situ.
I think they are fabulous and don't expect them to stay on your stall very long.

The boxes are fantastic!! The baskets, too! I do love those boxes, though! The lining is great, and the basketry edging is perfect.

We were at MIL's house again at the weekend and look what I found in the deepest, darkest corner of the shed! :)

This one's a lot bigger than the last lot and there is another one in the shed to collect next time we go, (ran out of space in the car).
Don't know what I'll do with this one, it's almost the size of a croquet set box, a bit too big for a log store do you think?
