Well you have 2 options - if you haven't made the necklace , go ahead and make it - if you have made the necklace - send it off, get the money - voila!!!

Well done now send some of the good luck up here.

Cheers.

Well done Seahorse.
I would just go to a newsagants and buy a packet of tissue rather than waiting for the stuff you have ordered to arrive, so that you can get it to the client as a promt service!!

Yep, my plan is, if I get to go home at lunch I can see if the delivery has turned up,if it hasI can then pack it up there and then and send.
If I dont get to go home at lunch, il ask if I can go to the local supermarket before the end of work so I can buy some tissue paper.Or go after work and hope the gift shop is still open.

It said on the paypal thingy that the address was UNconfirmed with them.
I contacted the buyer to check but no reply as yet.
Is it something to worry about?

I've had a few address unconfirmed - they have been okay - just be wary but I think you should be okay - don't do anything until the buyer gets back to you and confirms their address and e-mail.

Cheers.

Will do.

Hows this for commitment, I just said to my bosses 'I have to get something really important from the supermarket, Im going and theres nothing you can do to stop me...so there!!'

I actually asked if I could go to the supermarket but the above makes a more dramatic story.
I have some tissue paper, I also bought crepe paper as I think this will give extra cushioning.

Yay!!!! I meant to say that I looked at your site the other day - it looks great! I knew people would buy your jewellery!! Another tip about paypal is to open another window and go to paypal through that - don't click on links in any emails you get to check you have the money in there. Some people I know have been sent emails that said the money was in and when they clicked the link it was but it was a fake link! Just a heads up!!
Well done again on your sale!!

Congratulations on your sale :first:!!

Paypal is good for getting quick payments but then nasty for taking a percentage....:o

Try emailing your customer through the payment email notification - we find this usually works for unconfirmed postal addresses (my husband sells on ebay as a business) as the customer thinks there is something wrong with the payment ;) But at least you've got their attention!

Emailed her for the 3rd time, Im sure Ive mailed her everyway I can, saying il post it to the given address today.May hear from her at somepoint but want to avoid this strike that starts at 7pm tomorrow night.

Some people don't read their e-mails as often as we do (are we computer geeks or what!!) but I still wouldn't send it away until she confirms her address. If it means it won't get posted unitl after the strike that's her problem really. Paypal advise not to send to unconfirmed addresses until you get confirmation from the buyer.

I'm sure she'll answer soon though.

Cheers.

I didnt announce the site on a seperate thread, I was shy and just did it sneekily.
But couldnt resist saying I got a sale, only 3 days after it opened!!Is that normal?Maybe thats a long time.

Phew, she contacted me this morning, the address is correct.
Have to admit I sent it yesterday lunchtime. The goody twoshoes in me took over and I felt I had to send it in the time id stated on my T&C's.
Hopefully she will get it today pre these horrid strikes.

Good girl, I have had a few unconfirmed address and they have always been okay with me but best to double check to put your own mind at ease. Obviously a lot of people out there not as nerdy as us who check our e-mails hundreds of times a day (or is that just me).

She will love the necklace - which one was it she ordered.

All the best.

Velvet stardust!I didnt think anybody would like those, shows how much I know doesnt it!
Its a mix of deep purple swarovski beads with silver beads.
Hope she likes it, and I hope it turns up in one piece, hope I did the receipt ok etc.
Can you picture my lunch hour on my living room floor surrounded by boxes, envelopes, tissue paper etc, thinking to myself 'now, do I sellotape the tissue paper, will it look tacky?...its not going to fit in the box!!!THE BOX IS TOO SMALL!!!!arrrghh!!!!....finally found a solution.

Im sure I was unwise to post it before I got address confirmation.A slap on the hand for me but luckily it turned out ok and its a learning experience.

Hi - I am new to the forum, but your thread struck a chord with me - I have just launched my own handmade jewellery website - and I have also just received my first order through the site.
It's a great feeling, isn't it!

It's also a great relief to know that the site is working OK!

Just waiting for the cheque to arrive...

Well done Seahorse! Sirry for being so late, I have been away from the forum a lot recently and am gradually catching up. It's great that she has ordered through your new website - it must be easy to find which is great. I remember the feeling of making that first sale (I still get the same feeling whenever I make a sale!) Well done you :D

That's brilliant news, especially as you've not had your site long and jewellery making is quite a competitive craft area. Mr Media must have done some excellent SEO work for you! Hope the orders continue to roll in!
