I am having trouble deciding on a name - actually I've come up with quite a few, but hubby has said he doesn't like them!

If you have any ideas for good names that you don't mind me nicking if I decide I like it... let me know.

Thanks

Hopefully, a wide range of crafts from paintings, jewellery, textiles, glass and ceramic ware.... whatever appeals

The only thing I would suggest is don't use the word "craft" . It just seems to put people off for some reason. I think there was a thread about it ages ago, and most people thought "gifts" was a better word.

How about (Off the top of my head)

Gorgeous Gifts
Scrummyliscious
House of Gifts
Handmade By .....

(although I do still like the name Derek !!)

I agree that for some reason the word 'craft' does tend to put people off! I saw a business advisor, a few moths ago, he said to steer clear of it, he thought that people connected 'craft' with amateur & homemade..he suggested words like 'artisan' & 'designer'.

The word gallery is an upmarket sounding venue. It still evokes the feelings of artistic creation.

Ooh, Ooh, thought of another one at the weekend while I was away - came to me while I was zoned out driving!

What names have you come up with?

Could it be related to the location of the shop? to include the name of the area/street?
(.... unless your talking website shop that is!!)

I used to work in a picture framers/craft shop which was called Number34 as that was the number of the shop!
But I guess you want it a bit more related to crafts/jewellery etc.

I actually like Great Expectations....

D&D by Derek? Would I have to change my name!? :o

The Sapphire Gallery (bit posh?)
Arts and Crafts (but that's out now, as I cannot use "crafts")
Trinkets (bit un-posh!?)

My fave so far is "keepsake"...

Dunno... whadda ya fink?

If anyone else in Ashbourne opens a shop called Keepsake - I'll be a bit cross!

Was a line in your post....how about 'A BIT POSH'

Something to grab peoples attention and make them smile :)

Could be misleading - the punters will expect you to sell sapphires, really! It also sounds a bit like an Indian take away! I like 'Keepsake' :)

I like Keepsake... or with an 'S' Keepsakes.

Something like Treasure Chest...Treasure Trove... (is that a word?)

There was a shop locally that shut a few years ago called 'Finishing Touches'
I love that name
