I am just starting the Open University digital photography course (course code T189). Is anyone else on it? We already have Facebook and Flickr groups (both T189 May 2011).

Hi Dagna,
How are you finding the course? I was wondering whether to register for the October 2011 course. Any feedback would be really help me decide whether to go for it or not.

I did this course nearly 4 years ago. It's great for anyone with a half decent camera who wants to move away from photographing on auto. It's only 10 weeks long so isn't going to cover everything, but includes a lot of the basic thoery and forses you to look at manual settings and how you look at things. A big thumbs up from me. It really kick started my interest in & understanding of photography.
Enjoy!

Thanks Sarahleigh, the October slot is the penultimate course they will deliver, the last being in May next year. It's a toss up between this and a short web design course. I'm just dipping my toe in the water and have access to a good camera! Your post has been really helpful.
I’m looking at studying the OU course mentioned above or the one here – inst.org/photography-courses/become.htm
Anyone got any thoughts or experiences of either?
