We have bought a dolls house for our little girls birthday in 3 weeks from a huge toy retailer (I know naughty of me, its not hand crafted, but it was such a bargain) Anyway, atm it is unpainted and it needs to be in beautiful girlie colours, so armed with my spray paint and primer its my project for the next few weeks. Before I get going does anyone have any great tips, as I've not done something like this before and I don't want it to be a complete mess.

Hi
Is your house MDF, if it is make sure you have the correct MDF primmer!! if not it will eat your paint up like a rich tea drinks ya coffee
check out the gear at the dolls house emporium on the net.

My SIL is a mad doll's houser!! She get's all her bits etc from the doll's house emporium and says they are very good to deal with.
Your daughter will be so pleased with it, her imagination will know no bounds.:D

My friend recently painted her daughters dolls house - I'll ask her what she did!

My friend primed the wood with a couple of coats of primer and then just painted over the top with satin finish paint because it's wipe proof. If you want it to be properly washproof then the advice she was given would be to varnish it. Oh and sand it back between coats

Great advice, thanks. The wood definately isn't mdf, and I've got some wood primer, so a couple of coats of that is going on first. I've only got 3 weeks till the big day,so I'm going to make a start tonight.:)

Just been on the Dolls Emporium website again, and there is so much on there, wallpaper collections, little rugs and wood flooring. Wow, where's my purse??:D

I hope your going on well with the dolls house. My six year old daughter has one and plays with it all the time.
My dad bought it from the dolls house emporium. Four stories plus servents quarters and a basement garden. (must have more money than sense lol.
We have an emporium quite near us. I just love going in and could spend a fortune.
Good luck she will love it!
