Does anyone know some good ways of reusing baby clothes, my baby girl has got some really pretty dresses which I'd love to do something with.

I sewed one into a peg bag but i cant think of anything else??

I have just got rid of a load of Tara's old stuff and I've kept a few bits to make chickens with! You could try making soft toys - there are loads of pictures on Flickr to inspire you - I'm thinking of making some.

I have had this saved in my favorites just as a reminder not to throw Em's clothes out! Will hopefully have time to make something like this one day!!! She also has some beautiful fabric clothes.

Or even look around on this site as there are loads and loads of ideas on there.

Oooooh .. now this thread has got me thinking, especially with the link that blueamema put on here. I'm going to go and get all of Genevieve's old dresses out that I couldn't bear to throw away and see what I can come up with too. She has some wonderful Tigger PJ's and Dungarees that I haven't been able to part with as she almost wore holes in them she loved wearing them so much .... such a wonderful way to keep that memory :b:

A friend of mine made up a rag-rug with all of her daughter's old clothes - I'm going to do exactly the same - the pile of Grace's outgrown clothes is getting bigger by the day and I'm hoping that one day (hopefully she's before 18 !!) I will get to do the same

I think this is an excelent idea it would be a momento when she looks back on it, also why not a history blanket or something similar.

Ooh now I'd love to match them with any photos you have of her wearing some of your favourite outfits. Do something lovely with the photo either in a frame or in a scrapbook and have parts of the fabric as the book cover or as backgrounds to the photos, put pieces of the frills around the image etc

How about some bunting for her room?

I have thought about doing some for the pile of dresses the twins have grown out of but can't decide whether I need the memories or that cash from selling them more :)

I spent most of Monday morning cutting buttons off my little girls baby clothes. I'm going to make an applique picture with the clothes (and buttons). I havn't decided what picture to make yet but somthing that she can keep in years to come.

A peg bag is really a nice one. Try to make something like a keepsake quilts. Make a quilts from squares of baby clothing you have to cut to size. A simple block quilt pattern works well if you want to adjust how much space goes to each fabric. You can also put pictures in the keepsake quilts.

Or you can make a pillow cover out of baby clothes. Just cut up squares of equal size and sew them together into a light pillow cover.

Hope it helps you.

I agree with your answers.

That will be a great baby keepsakes and a good way of reusing beautiful baby clothes. That will be so much fun.

Cheers!
