when number 1 daughter got married a couple of years ago i bought her a beautiful padded, pleated horseshoe decorated with pearls. i tried to get another one for daughter number 2 who is getting married in august but the supplier has closed down. i have looked online but they all appear to be very flat with a few sequins sprinkled about but i really want one that is padded, pleated and pearled.
does anyone know of any websites that i can have a browse through?

Hi there. I don't know a supplier, but I bought a classic inspiration magazine (number 20) some years ago and it had a pattern for a horseshoe, pillow and garter for a wedding, which was embroidered with ribbon flowers and was absolutely gorgeous.
If you could find one for sale (ebay or somewhere), perhaps you could make her one, much better than buying.
If you wanted to add pearls it could be more personalised.
You must be crafty to be on here so I'm sure you could give it a shot!
If you can't get one, but fancy having a go, send me an e-mail and I'll find it out and get a copy of the pattern to send to you.

thanks for the offers but i had found a website doing handpainted real horsehoes, which would maybe be more suitable for the horse owning bride, and they were gorgeous so sent an email last night to try and order one and now they too have stopped tradng!!

Sounds lovely ... but won't a real one be rather heavy... not sure if your daughter will be carrying it with her bouquet?

yes my husband said that. that had been my original idea for the satin padded one but her sister, the one who got married 2 years ago, is due to have her first baby 5 weeks before the wedding and it was going to be a way of getting the baby a role in the wedding. i had wanted someone holding the baby to make it look like he/she was handing it over. trying to make it up as i go along!

I make wooden horseshoe keepsakes, personalised with the bride & groom's names, date and 'Congratulations on your wedding day' added too.
They can be found here (http://www.samigailsgifts.co.uk/ourshop/cat_152729-Wedding-Gifts-including-Engagement-Anniversary.html)

Hi Southportgirl, I don't know if you hail from Southport but 'Rocks for Frocks' in Liverpool do things to order, it's run by 'gbell' from this forum & she also has a facebook page if you want the padded horseshoe.
