I was wondering what type of glue / adhesive do you all use to stick ribbons, especially satin, to your cards. I find the white pva glue really messy as it tend to ooze out the sides if your ribbon is quite thin. I like using 3M craft mount aerosol spray but find it "stains" paler coloured ribbons.
I have heard you can get ribbon that is already sticky on one side?? Does anybody know where you can get that from?

Have you tried double sided sticky tape - you can get 4 rolls for a pound in poundland if you live near one and it's good stuff! You could also try superglue but you would have to test a piece first to make sure it doesn't stain the ribbon.

How about one of those heat up glue guns.
There is a site called thistothat where you can click on what you want to stick and it comes up with the types of glue thats best.

I use narrow double sided tape, it works great. Superglue normally stains the ribbon. Or you could attatch the ribbon using brads or eyelets. The adhesive ribbon is normally pretty dear. Glue dots are pretty good too.

Thanks for all your replies - I'm off to buy some double sided sticky tape!!
I got some glue sent over from the US called Ribbon Glue, made by Making Memories, it holds the ribbon really well.

doublesided tape I have found holds all kinds on ribbon, you can also hold bows with foam pads, med or large glue dots or silicone glue.
Good luck Lynn
I don't need to stick ribbon, but I wouldn't mind knowing how you seal the ends once you've cut it with scissors to stop it starting to unravel?

wrap it round the edge of the card and stick down and then cover it witha card insert.

Thanks for that, but I use my ribbon for sewing (like on my flower-fairy bag) and I wondered if there was a sealant or something like that....?

Clear nailvarnish or something I think is called Stopfray, tho I could have made that name up, but it basically stops things fraying.

I just bought myself something called stick-it, and its a dispenser that has a roll of sticky dots. Its the type of thing you buy and think - where have you been all my life. lol.
I have used it on ribbon, embelishments, paper and card - however if the card stock is very soft and fiberous it does pull the paper off and u end up wasting glue and poss card.:)
