I love lavender and use it a lot in my craftwork. I grow it in my garden and dry it myself by hanging bunches upside down in a warm dark place.

Hi again - just read your intro...

I grow it also, for my potpourri. and am now making "lavender wands." I have to hang mine in paper bags to keep the dust off of it - we're in the country in dry central Texas...very dusty always.

Don't talk to me about Lavender. I was brought up by my grandmother who put a lavender bag in every drawer to keep the moths at bay. I am sure you can imagine the problems that caused for a young boy going to school everyday smelling of lavender:mad:

These (below) look very nice, I think...and look nice hanging up. They're more of a lavender pomander than a wand. I have even thought of stuffing some sage leaves in there, too!

Step 2 is a bit confusing -you bend the stems over the flowers from a point on the stems just below the flowers...that's probably confusing, too. I.e., you fold the stems back over the flowers. It's not much of a wand as a basket with the flowers inside.

I have 12 Lavender du Provence in my garden...it grows well here. I have difficulty growing English Lavender but it sure smells heavenly!

I personally love Lavender. These flowers have beautiful scent and offer numerous benefits.
