I'm looking for buttons!

Did they stop making buttons in the 80's.... all I can find are horrible plastic fish eye things or worse!

On the hunt for some lovely wooden, glass & ceramic buttons.

Anyone seen any amazing websites anywhere?

They look like scrapbooking embellishment buttons to me...change your search parameters! Hobbycraft do a huge range of scrapbooking buttons, I bought a selection box of plain buttons for £9.99 a while back.

Or try eBay search for buttons and look in cardmaking/scrapbooking as a category. These are nice 260128606617

I was going to suggest ebay too - if you don't mind them being second hand then try car boot sales and charity shops. I bought nearly a carrier bag full from a boot sale for £2!!

There's a art gallery/craft shop called Studio 61 in Lea (near Matlock in Derbyshire), the artist who runs it only sells handcrafted items from Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire crafters (she is really passionate about promoting local crafts). When I went in, last Saturday, she had some gorgeous handmade glass buttons. I can't remember how much they were and I know it's a bit of a trek for you, but if you visited the shop you could get the contact details for whoever makes them.

Studio 61 does have a website but, I think, she only advertises and sells her paintings and cards through it.

Try www.buttoncompany.co.uk - they do shell as well as plastic, but they have some funky stuff.
