Hi I am new to the forum but have been painting on glass for a while mainly jars and various glass items found in jumble sales and charity shops . I have just recently started cardmaking and would like to try painting flowers , butterflies and dragonflies on acetate and cutting out to use to decorate my cards , any advice and ideas would be welcome :D

My advice would be to go for it!
The only challage I think you will find is attaching it to the card as most adhesives will show through. You can get round this in a number of ways, for example
Cover the adhesive with ribbon or another embelishment
Make a 3 fold Apature card so that the acetate is sandwiched between two of the three bits of card
Make the whole card with acetate
Use a special adhesive although I have not found these to be all that good.
I would love to see what you come up with :-D

I've used glass paint on acetate very sucessfully, using exactly the same methods as you would on glass. I wet the back of the acetate sheet to stick it on my windows, but it will be equally as good on cards I'm sure. :)
